Kenneth L. Baker
A 1968 graduate of Washington & Jefferson College, Ken Baker subsequently attended the University of Pittsburgh School of Law, graduating in 1971. He then joined Peacock Keller for one year prior to serving a three-year term as an attorney for the Judge Advocate General Corps of the United States Army, at the end of which he returned to the firm. Ken also attended the Masters in Tax Program offered at New York University.
A member of the Washington County, Pennsylvania, and American Bar Associations, Mr. Baker concentrates his practice in estate planning and administration, real property, and corporate and business matters. He is also a member of The American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He has been a frequent lecturer for the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on estate planning and estate administration, and has attended national estate planning seminars. He is the Solicitor for the Washington School District and the Citizens Library of Washington.
Ken has been an active participant in community service organizations, having served as a member of the Washington Hospital Planned Giving Committee, as President of the Washington Rotary Club, President of the Southwestern Pennsylvania Easter Seals Society, as Advancement Chairman and Roundtable Commissioner of the Catawba District, Greater Pittsburgh Council and currently Chairman of the Membership Standards Committee of the Greater Pittsburgh Council, Boy Scouts of America, Chairman of the Scouting for Food Drive for Washington County, and a member of the Board of Directors of the Greater Pittsburgh Council of Boy Scouts of America, as a United Way volunteer, as Clerk and Member of Session of the First Presbyterian Church of Washington, Pennsylvania, as a member and Secretary to Family Service, as a member of the Washington & Jefferson College Development Council, as counsel to the Washington County Republican Committee, as President of the Friends of the Library of Washington, Pennsylvania, as Chairman of the 1991 Bench-Bar Conference for the Washington County Bar Association, as Treasurer and Vice President of the Washington County Bar Association and as President of the Washington County Bar Association in 1999. He was awarded the Silver Beaver Award by the Greater Pittsburgh Council of the Boy Scouts of America in November 2006.
Ken and his wife, the former Mary E. Sargent, a teacher in the Washington School District, reside in East Washington, Pennsylvania. They have a son, Daniel.
