Please Meet... Stephen Curry

real estate lawyer in Southwestern Pennsylvania Peacock Keller added another talented lawyer to its staff in the fall of 2004 when Stephen P. Curry was notified he had passed the Pennsylvania Bar exam. His is an interesting story.

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Steve lived for a number of years in southern California and then in Raleigh, North Carolina before moving to western Pennsylvania. For twelve years he successfully managed a restaurant franchise business on the West Coast. A hard worker who is detail conscious, he brings maturity and life experience with him to the practice of law.

Steve completed his undergraduate education at California University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude in 2001 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance. During that period, he was awarded the Wall Street Journal Award for Excellence in the study of Finance. He moved on to Duquesne University School of Law, where he received his juris doctorate in 2004. While in law school, he completed a voluntary judicial internship with President Judge Terry Grimes of the Greene County Courts and clerked with Peacock Keller & Ecker, LLP.

Since joining the firm, Steve is focusing his work primarily on mineral law and school law. Steve says that his mid-life decision to change vocations fulfilled an early dream of his to practice law. He notes that, as in finance, practicing law really consists of problem solving.

Steve and his wife, Melanie, recently moved from Waynesburg to the Washington area with their two daughters, Kera, age 8, and Karlee, age 6. Steve's son, Ian, age 20, attends college in southern California and his oldest daughter, Megan, age 17, is preparing to enter the same college this fall at Cal State Fullerton, where she will pursue a degree in education.

Already involved in community activity, Steve is a member of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity, and when he gets some spare time, he is an enthusiastic bass fisherman.

We welcome Steve to Peacock Keller. I know you will find his maturity and dedication welcome qualities in working for the clients of Peacock Keller.
