Attorney Joins National Academy
Susan Mondik Key, a partner in the firm of Peacock Keller & Ecker, LLP, has joined the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. (NAELA). Membership in the Academy is open to licensed attorneys who are practicing in the area of elder law or who are interested in legal issues pertaining to the elderly.
The National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys is a professional association of attorneys concerned with improving the availability and delivery of legal services to the older person. Elder law focuses on estate planning, Medicare-Medicaid issues, health care and advance directives, and guardianships. Western Pennsylvania has a growing elderly population.
With the emergence of elder law as an acknowledged area of practice, NAELA is striving to define the area of practice, establish standards, and create an information network among elder law attorneys. The Academy was formed in 1987 and currently has more than 4,000 members.
