Please Meet Heike E. Mills
Please meet Heike E. Mills, our newest lawyer, who was born into a U.S. Army family in Germany. She did her college work at West Virginia University, graduating Phi Beta Kappa and summa cum laude in 1991 with a bachelor of arts degree in English.
After a stint at real estate title and appraising, she entered the University of Pittsburgh School of Law and got her juris doctorate in 2003. During her law school, Heike interned with Southwestern Pennsylvania Legal Aid Services and the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection.
Heike practiced law for three years in general litigation for firms in Pittsburgh and Washington County. She joined Peacock Keller & Ecker LLP in May 2006 and has focused primarily on estate planning and administration, real estate, and business corporation law.
Heike lives on a 164 acre farm in Claysville with her husband, Todd, who is a Ringgold High School Science teacher. With sons, Jurek, 13, and Nathaniel, 12, they are actively farming their land and plan on raising beef cattle.
If you are looking for character traits, know that Heike had a brown belt in karate, but her passion is in distance running, between three and twenty miles, which she does regularly. Her dream is to run in the marathon when it returns to Pittsburgh. If there is any test of character, it has to be long-distance running and we are confident you will find Heike is not only a bright but very dedicated lawyer.
Heike is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar Association, its Agricultural Law Committee, and the Washington County Bar. She is also a member of the Pennsylvania and Washington County Farm Bureau and the National Brownfield Association.
